The companies involved in this process are known as the Oil & Gas equipment and services supply industry.

CITEPH Program
The CITEPH Program initiated by the Oil and Gas industry in 2007 aims at financing research and innovative projects in Exploration and Production (E&P).
The sponsoring companies (groups) operating in the oil and gas business (E&P services) allocate altogether nearly 10 millions € per year to R&D collaborative projects.
